Job Details

Responsibilities for this role include recording data established by policy and procedure, as well as reporting observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse. The PCA position performs basic patient care activities within unit specific limits and job scope, such as assistance with patient hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress. PCAs must be able to work in various nursing units.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent education

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Must complete one of the following:

• PCA externship
• PCA internal internship
• Six months of direct patient care experience
• Enrolled in a school of nursing program with a completed first clinical rotation

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• For Skilled Nursing Facility(SNF)/Rehab departments only - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
